Journalism is a source of the public discourse. It feeds, directs and vitalises a broad exchange of views with which we are creating a new era. In these times of transition, a vital discourse is a condition for moving ourselves forward. That is why I believe journalism to be a key domain in the coming decennia. That is also why I believe that journalism should be a profitable and sefl-sustaining sector.
The journalistic proposition and business model however, need reinvention; the old model is dying and we are in transition towards new propositions, with new models, new audiences, new delivery and new journalists. It is my ambition to be a catalyst in that process by starting new ventures and supporting legacy media in the development and implementation of new models.
